Blue Foundry Charitable Foundation Awards over $48,000 in Grants to Nine New Jersey Nonprofits in Q4

 

PARSIPPANY, NJ – January 16, 2025 – Blue Foundry Charitable Foundation, Blue Foundry Bank’s foundation for supporting philanthropic efforts in New Jersey has continued working to make a difference, exemplifying what it means to give back to the community. The Foundation supports the efforts of organizations that fall under its four giving pillars: Affordable Housing, Education, Health and Human Services, and Youth Programs.

Blue Foundry Charitable Foundation has proved its commitment to the communities it serves, awarding over $264,000 in grants in 2024, with over $48,000 of that total coming in the fourth quarter. The nonprofits awarded in the fourth quarter include:

Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic

Provides a safe after-school environment for children and youth ages 5-18, providing academic, recreational, athletic and arts programming.

Children on the Green Inc.

Committed to providing quality, developmentally appropriate care and early education for the children of families living or working in the Morristown area.

Dunellen Defender Fire Company No 1

Supports the efforts of the Dunellen Fire Department and hosts annual community events such as the street fair and Santa’s run on Christmas Eve.

Family Promise of Hudson County

Supports families experiencing homelessness and helps low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. From providing shelter to helping with rental arrears, FPHC makes sure that the families in its care can find or stay where they belong, in a home of their own.

Foundation for University Hospital

Founded in 2014 to secure resources to accelerate University Hospital’s mission to provide exceptional care for every patient, every time. The Hospital is the only public, academic acute care facility in New Jersey; its doors never close and it accepts every patient irrespective of ability to pay.

Literacy Volunteers of Morris County

Provides free, individualized instruction to adults in their community who lack the ability to read, write or speak English fluently.  Literacy Volunteers help these individuals achieve their goals so that they can become productive employees, business owners, consumers, parents and citizens.

Mahwah Environmental Volunteers Organization Inc

An environmental not-for-profit with the mission to be the model for the creation of scalable ecological solutions that inspire and empower people to act for a better future.

Preschool Advantage

Children whose parents cannot afford preschool begin their educational journey at a significant disadvantage. Preschool Advantage gives them a fair chance to succeed by funding their pre-k tuition. Under the guidance of skilled teachers, they also experience significant growth in emotional and social intelligence.

Felician University

Felician University provides a full complement of learning experiences, reinforced with strong academic and student development programs designed to bring students to their highest potential and prepare them to meet the challenges of the new century with informed minds and understanding hearts.

In addition to issuing grants, Blue Foundry Charitable Foundation supports Blue Foundry Bank’s Community Impact Program, giving their employees the opportunity to give back to the neighborhoods where they live and work. In the fourth quarter, they collaborated with the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic, collecting donations of toys for those in need and volunteering to wrap presents.
